Welcome and thank you for coming to craft with me today! I am just so thrilled about Earth Day! I have a strong desire to help our world as much as I can. So this day means a great deal to me because if we don’t take care of our Earth then she will no longer be able to provide for us. SO let us celebrate this AWESOME Happy Earth Day and give thanks to our Beautiful Mother Earth.
Could you imagine what our planet would look like if we took care of her and picked up after ourselves? Holy Moly!
Our Beautiful Mother Earth needs our help more than ever right now! Lets take care of her. She deserves it!
Just a mention!
As I finished this article and started looking for Earth Day stuff I realized there is a similar design to the one I made so I wanted to give a shout out! I usually do NOT look things up before I sit down and create and realized GinaCCreates design is similar to this, which was a little upsetting because I spent hours creating this design. But Great minds think alike:) GinaCCreates is also offering 20 free Earth Day SVG cut files!

Adjusting the Size of Our Beautiful Mother Earth SVG
The only thing I did was adjust the size to 10.814 (W) x 10.948 (H) but the size is really up to you! Just letting you know I did adjust the size. It comes in a bit bigger than that.
First way to resize
You can select the image and drag it out with the two arrows pointing in the opposite directions (bottom right hand corner).
Second way to resize
The second way is to head on up to the top panel and put the exact size into the size icon.
NOTE: If you make it smaller than I did, I would suggest you make the text a draw line instead of a cut and attach it to where it is drawing the words to.
How to change the cut line to a draw line (optional)
This is totally up to you. But I will show you just in case you are making it smaller than I did. If you are not making it smaller you can go ahead and skip this section and head down to the Make it section.
First thing you need to do is go to the right hand side panel and select the word Beautiful. Below you can see that the word beautiful is selected.
Next head on up to the operation icon and click on it and a drop down will appear, go down to the pen option and select that.
Now repeat the same steps with the Mother Earth Text. Once you are done with that we will now attach the words to let our cricut machine know where to draw these words.
Attaching our draw lines to the banner
So our cut lines are now draw lines and we have to let our cricut machine know where to draw these.
Ungroup the image. You can either right click and hit ungroup (depending on your computer) or you can head up to the top of the right hand side panel and hit ungroup. See image below
Lets go over to the right hand side panel and select the word beautiful and also the banner it is sitting on. So there are two items selected. I hold the shift key down to select them both.
Once they are both selected head down to the attach icon, located at the bottom right hand side. It’s the paperclip and hit attach. You have now told your cricut machine where you want that beautiful drawn 🙂 WOOHOO!
You are going to repeat those same steps for the Mother Earth word and banner.
Once you are done with that, select the whole image, and group it back together. I usually draw a box around the entire image and hit group. But you can hold your shift key down and select each layer too.
Make it- Beautiful Mother Earth SVG for Earth Day
WOOHOO! So we have now hit the Make it Icon and are brought to our cutting mats. We have 8 cutting mats unless you changed the colors or if you are drawing the words. Everything looks great so we are now ready to continue on.
Machine and Material Setup
Let us select the cutting machine we will be using, which in my case is the Maker.
Then I am going to select the material which is Medium cardstock. You maybe working with different materials which is ok. Just select the materials you are using.
If you are working with the Explore Air 2 change your dial and set it to cardstock.
We are now ready to have our awesome cutting machine cut this beauty!
Gather your materials
So we now have our cricut setup to the machine we are using and also the material we are using.
Lets go gather our materials in which our cricut will be cutting.
I gathered 8 different cardstock sheets and chose the colors that I thought would look great together. Go ahead and gather the materials you are going to be using so it’s all together.
Cutting our Beautiful Mother Earth SVG to Celebrate Earth Day
WE are now ready to cut this beauty!
So now we are ready for our cutting mats. We can use the light blue mat or the green mat, the choice is yours and it depends on which material you are using.
Want to learn more about the cricut cutting mats? Check out my article- Cricut Cutting Mats- All you need to know about cricut cutting mats.
Let’s put our black cardstock on our cutting mat and load it into our machine by pressing the flashing arrow button. It will load the mat.
NOTE: you will not have the black cardstock if you decided to draw the words which is a okay! You would just follow the colors and mats in cricut design space.
Then we are going to hit the cricut button to start the cut of our words. Watch your awesome machine go to town:)
Once it is done cutting, lets unload our mat, and peel off the sheet. Then we can take our scraper and grab our words off the mat.
Then we are going to continue on and put our light pink cardstock on the mat and repeat the steps until you have cut each and every single mat.
So we now have each and every single mat cut and all the pieces in front of us, let’s start assembling the Beautiful Layered Mother Earth SVG Cut file.
Assembling our Beautiful Mother Earth SVG
Let us take our blue layers that we cut of the Earth and put them in order like the picture above shows. And also grab our awesome tacky glue or whatever you choose to work with.
Starting with the solid, then the one with some cuts, then the light blue one with all the cuts. We are going to be gluing them in that order.
The next picture just shows you how I placed the glue on the second layer to glue it to the solid blue. Once all three of those layers are glued we are now ready to move onto the second step.
Lets grab both of the green layers and line up the lighter green with the darker green and glue those together!
Once that is done we are now ready to move to step three.
Step 3 (if you cut the words)
If you cut the words out let us glue the back of the words to each banner.
We are now ready to glue the green layer to the blue layer with our glue. Once that is glued, it is now time to place the banners with the words where we want them on our Mother Earth. Placement is totally up to you!
