There are specific yoga poses that are wonderful for opening this chakra. But we need to remember that it is going to take some time and repetition for this to open. It’s an ongoing process, not a quick fix. It takes some time so be patient with yourself.
The Bow pose is great for the solar plexus chakra because it awakens and energizes this chakra, which is linked to manifestation and personal power.
The strong arch in the back also works on strengthening the core muscles, which is helpful for back problems as well as a lot of other difficulties.
This is a great pose to try out if you feel like you’re lacking power and confidence. It will awaken and energize this chakra and make you feel more powerful and confident.
Child’s pose is great for the solar plexus chakra because it stimulates your emotional center and helps to soothe and calm you.
The solar plexus chakra helps to regulate many of the digestive and elimination processes and holds all of our deeply held emotions such as anger, frustration, self-doubt, etc. During this yoga pose, all of these emotions are brought to the surface.
Child’s pose helps to build self-awareness and self-acceptance. It also helps you realize the kind of parent you want to be for your children (imagined or real).
The cobra pose is great for the solar plexus chakra because it helps you to find your grounding, and it increases your confidence.
It is a great exercise to help you feel balanced and grounded, and it strengthens the whole solar plexus area of your body. This is an important chakra to focus on strengthening if you lack confidence or feel disconnected from your true self.
The corpse pose is great for the solar plexus chakra because it helps to release any anger which you may be withholding, whether it is directed at someone or not.
The pose will make you feel light and free of the weight of any anger, allowing you to let go of any resentment towards others.
Downward Dog & (knee to nose)
The Downward Dog & (knee to nose) is great for the solar plexus chakra because of the side-bending action it performs that stimulates this chakra’s energy flow.
It also helps release any tension that might be trapped in your solar plexus.
Half Lord of Fishes
The Half Lord of Fishes is great for the solar plexus chakra because it opens up things that hold us back and takes away limitations. It helps with self-esteem.
Think about when you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
We all had dreams and we probably still do, but somewhere in our lives we lost track of them and put limitations on ourselves. This aspect helps raise the bar and gives you a sense of belief in achieving your wildest dreams.
It also encourages you to step up to the plate and take responsibility for what is yours, while at the same time releasing negativity from others like ‘victim’ energy.
High Lunge Twist
The High Lunge Twist is a great pose for the solar plexus chakra because not only does it stretch and tone this area, but it also stimulates it.
The High Lunge Twist stretches the legs, hips, belly, and chest while toning the abdominal muscles. It stimulates the solar plexus chakra because it puts pressure on this area of the body.
The plank pose is a great posture to strengthen your core and it also stimulates the solar plexus chakra.
The plank pose strengthens and tones the deep abdominal muscles while increasing strength and flexibility in the shoulders, arms, and back muscles.
The best thing about doing the plank pose is that it’s easy to do anywhere safely!
Seated Twist Pose
The seated twist pose strengthens the lower back, thighs, shoulders, and abdominals. Breathing is an important part of this pose because it helps to regulate the twists.
This pose is good for blood flow and digesting heavy foods. It is said that it stimulates the whole abdominal region, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, reproductive organs, and gall bladder.
Benefits of pose: This pose helps to remove blockages in the solar plexus chakra while also strengthening this energy center.
Twists are also good to help cleanse and detoxify the body and remove toxins from the digestive system. Twists in general aid in digestion because they expand and move internal organs which helps them to work more efficiently, promoting better overall health.
The Warrior III pose is great for the solar plexus chakra because it helps us to stand up for our beliefs and maintain a positive attitude. When we feel confident, we project more self-assurance and attract like-minded people into our lives.
We can practice this pose anywhere and at any time that feels right to us: it can help us to feel more powerful, optimistic, and at peace with ourselves.
