Connecting Deeper

Yoga

Just like the Heart Chakra, poses that open up your throat seem to have a ripple effect on the rest of your chakras. It’s through deep backbends and other movements where we use our neck or allow it to move in ways that keep this area balanced. We tend to neglect this area when all it takes is a few moments for exercises or stretches.

Yoga really is an amazing resource for opening the chakras up! You can feel yourself getting stronger and stronger as time goes on.

Breathing/ BreatheWork

How breathing can help the throat chakra:

Breathwork is one of the most effective ways to unblock and stimulate your throat chakra. It can help you to be more honest, open, and creative.

Breathing is also an excellent way to center yourself and clear your mind before you head off into a busy day where you could potentially become stressed by others or the work you have to take on.

By doing energizing breathwork, you will stimulate your body into feeling positive and happy. When done at the end of a stressful day breathing can help to calm you down while releasing any deep tension in your body caused by stress.

It is no secret that if we are stressed or depressed our voices become more strained and we lose our sense of creativity.

Breathing can be an excellent tool for helping with tension, stress, and depression as it has been used in conjunction with meditation for centuries – both as a way of breathing AND to release stored tension on the body.

Meditation

One of the most powerful tools for healing and growth is meditation. Many people attempt to meditate, but don’t understand how it can help them on an emotional and physical level.

Meditation allows you to relax your mind so that negative emotions such as anger and fear are released. It also helps you connect with higher states of consciousness where you open yourself to divine guidance and understanding. Meditation is a tool to help you resolve inner conflicts, heal emotional wounds, and find spiritual growth.

The throat chakra is all about communication with the outside world. It deals primarily with your ability to speak your truth honestly regardless of what others may think or feel in response to it.

When the throat chakra becomes blocked, you may have trouble expressing your feelings in words or even making a sound. You might fear the judgment of others and keep what you really feel bottled inside because you don’t want to start an argument with someone. Negative emotions stored in this chakra can be anger, rage, bitterness, and resentment.

This is why meditation for the throat chakra is so helpful. Meditation allows you to relax your mind and release emotions that block the free flow of energy in the throat area. It helps you find inner peace, clarity, and acceptance so that you can speak your truth without fear of rejection or judgment from others.

Sounds Baths / Sound Healing

Sound baths are particularly relaxing and healing. When we listen to certain frequencies of music or tones, these sounds can actually help us release negative energy from our bodies and minds while assisting in self-healing.

Sound healers work with specific frequencies or vibrations to balance and free chakras in the body. They’re also known as tuning forks, singing bowls, etc.

When working with different sounds, it is important to know where they work best in the body. While some vibrations are suitable for clearing certain energy centers or areas within the body, others affect the whole body as a whole.

For example, if you are working with sound to balance and open your throat chakra, then you would want to select sounds that relate to your throat chakra specifically.

You might choose a sound that is related to the element of air or sound, such as Tibetan singing bowls. These sounds are particularly good for balancing and energizing your throat chakra.

Seed Mantra Meditations

The Seed Mantra, HAM, for the Throat is so beneficial because the vibrations resonate and open the throat chakra. It is recommended that you listen to your seed mantra for about 10 minutes or more per day to achieve its benefits.

After just a few days, you should start noticing an increase in energy flowing through this area of your body as well as an improvement in communication skills and overall health.

As you chant your seed mantra, you may also feel a tingling or vibrating sensation throughout your whole body. This is very common and helps to clear any extra energy that might be stuck in your body.
