Need a refresher about what chakras are? Head on over to the Complete Guide to the 7 Chakras.

Brief Overview of the Sacral Chakra

The Sacral chakra is the second energy center in the human body. It’s located just below the belly button and above the pubic bone. It corresponds to the lower end of the spinal cord, between the L4 and L5 vertebrae in particular. It also corresponds to our emotions, sexuality, creativity, self-worth, and sense of belonging or not belonging in life.

This Chakra is responsible for creating stability, security, and confidence. It affects your relationships, how you move forward in your life, and how happy you feel in general.

  • Physical-The Sacral Chakra is associated with the bladder, kidneys, and reproductive organs.
  • Emotional- An imbalance can cause rapid changes emotionally, over thinking, constant thinking, and confusion.
  • Mental- Creative blocks, not flexible, can’t relate to others
  • Spiritual- Disconnect, numb, or scattered

Essentially, any ‘body’ issues will stem from an imbalanced Sacral Chakra: physical issues such as weight gain or loss are linked to Sacral blockages which can be emotional/mental blocks or even karmic blockages from another lifetime.
